With the "Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom", reached on December 24, 2020, the relationship between the two has entered a phase that consolidates the definitive departure of the British. From the hand of two great experts, this conversation aims to illuminate, for the non-specialized public, the economic and legal aspects of the new relationship. In particular, it is proposed to develop two main themes: 1) What can we expect from the current legal situation and regulations? and 2) What economic effects will prevail within the broad spectrum of available results?

The Brexit Agreement clarifies some aspects of the post-Brexit relationship but leaves others, such as financial services, unspecified. In addition, the United Kingdom seems not to be complying since the launch of its Single Market Law, and with new episodes, both with the commitments of both the Exit Agreement and those of the most recent Trade and Cooperation Agreement. The exhibition will address questions such as the following: What do we know today about the agreed relationship? What aspects are still open to negotiation? Is the UK in breach of previous agreements and what is the European Union doing, can or should the European Union do about it?

On the other hand, from an economic point of view, there are numerous discrepancies regarding the impact of Brexit that can be expected both in the United Kingdom and in Europe. What are the reasons for these discrepancies? What effects are you already experiencing? Can the impact of Brexit be separated from that of covid-19? What impact of Brexit can be expected to prevail in the future?
